Taken From Facebook………………….About All The Good Mothers

I saw this on Facebook yesterday so had to share it here because I think it is just so bloody spot on.

To the mum who’s breastfeeding: way to go! It really is an amazing gift to give your baby, for any amount of time that you can manage! You’re a good mum.

To the mum who’s formula feeding: isn’t science amazing? To think there was a time when a baby with a mother who couldn’t produce enough would suffer, but now? Better living through chemistry! You’re a good mum.

To the cloth nappy mum: fluffy bums are the cutest, and so friendly on the bank account. You’re a good mum.

To the disposable nappy mum: damn those things hold a lot and it’s excellent to not worry about leakage and laundry! You’re a good mum.

To the mum who stays home: I can imagine it isn’t easy doing what you do, but to spend those precious years with your babies must be amazing. You’re a good mum.

To the mum who works: It’s wonderful that you’re sticking to your career, you’re a positive role model for your children in so many ways, it’s fantastic. You’re a good mum.

To the mum who had to feed her kids from the drive thru all week because you’re too worn out to cook or go grocery shopping: You’re feeding your kids, and hey, I bet they aren’t complaining! Sometimes sanity can indeed be found in a red box with a big yellow M on it. You’re a good mum.

To the mum who gave her kids a home cooked breakfast lunch and dinner for the past week: Excellent! Good nutrition is important, and they’re learning to enjoy healthy foods at an early age, a boon for the rest of their lives. You’re a good mum.

To the mum with the kids who are sitting quietly and using their manners in the fancy restaurant: Kudos, it takes a lot to maintain order with children in a place where they can’t run around. You’re a good mum.

To the mum with the toddler having a meltdown in the cereal aisle: they always seem to pick the most embarrassing places to lose their minds don’t they? We’ve all been through it. You’re a good mum.

Sometimes we all need to hear this, and stop judging each other, and celebrate our differences.

Please share this with all the mummies you know, they may need to hear these words!

Should they be forced to stay?

Today it is cold and wet here down under, and I have two pairs of socks on and we are not even into winter yet………………..anyway how is everyone?

On Friday night we had Little Leo here for the night and on Saturday night we were supposed to have Blain his mum dropped him off here around 1pm and around 10 minutes later he wanted to ring his mum and ask why he had to stay here as he didn’t want to stay, so I let him ring her and she didn’t answer her mobile so he rang the house and she wasn’t home yet so he left a message for her to ring him back…………………anyway she did ring him back eventually and he asked why he had to stay. They talked for a while and then she talked to me and said that she didn’t have anything to feed him for tea (dinner) and I said if he still wanted to go home after tea then I could take him home.

However he didn’t stop asking why he had to stay and started saying to me “feed me know I want to go home” in the end I rang Kathy and asked her what she thought I should do, it was upsetting for me to hear him say he didn’t want to be here anyway Kathy said to pack up what I was going to feed him for tea and take the food and him home. I said I thought Natasha would get pissed off and Kathy said she would get over it. So that is what I ended up doing, as I was leaving Natasha’s place after dropping Blain home she said could he come over the following Friday and I said yes he could. It wasn’t till I got home that I thought I should had said to her that he could come if it was what he wanted to do, I don’t want him to feel like he is being forced to come over for the night.

So here is the question for everyone am I right or am I wrong………………………….

Do you think he should had been forced to stay here it wasn’t like his mum had plans to go out or anything and she only has him 3 nights a week Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

I love all my grandchildren and I like having them here but I don’t want them to feel like they are being forced to stay with nanna and papa, Leo will complain about staying sometimes but he gets over it very fast it is just when his mum (Jessica) leaves that he will have a cry but usually 10minutes later he is over it.

Getting Older

Recently I have been feeling my age but don’t tell anyone…………..as I hate to admit it…………lol

However the older I get the more I feel the weather, I say weather because in summer the heat gets to me and in winter the cold gets to me and it gives me headaches. Yes you read that right the cold gives me headaches, the wind gives me headaches too so I do not like going outside on the colder days………..

Also getting old means that the arthritis in my knees play up and of course they are worse in the cold weather because that is the way life rolls…………………or maybe that should read it’s the way life creaks…………lol

Now also another part of getting older means we get more annoyed by all the idiots in the world and how the young ones are clueless and seem to think the world owes them something or rather which of course it doesn’t now I know not all young ones are like that I am not saying they are but the ones who are really piss me off…………….and why is it that there are so many young people who think it is ok to live on welfare oh yeah I know their parents lived on welfare so it is all they know.

Ok there are some good things about getting older such as being more laid back and not stressing out over the little things, I look back at myself when I was much younger I think damn I got all bent out of shape over some silly things.

Time Spent Away

While on our holiday to New Zealand’s South Island many people we came across found it fascinating that we were only having a week’s holiday ok 8 days but close enough to a week not the point the point is they thought we would had spent longer on holiday.

Tim and I however must be a little strange in that we do not like to be away from our family for very long after only 6 days we were missing everyone so much we were looking forward to returning home.

Now I know my parents the longest they have ever been away for was nearly 5 weeks and after 4 weeks they had to head home and the closer the get to home the more they want to get home and see everyone.

Even when my parents have been travelling Aus my mum will ring me each night around 6.10pm to have a chat, while in New Zealand I have so missed mums nightly calls. Now there may be some who do not realise that I not only speak to mum each night but I will see her between 2 and 4 times a week………………….lol Tim often wonders what it is we find to talk about…………..lol

Not Dead But Back

Yeah I am not dead but I bet some of you have wondered where I have been since it has been a while since my last post. Well if you didn’t know I went off on a holiday, yeah hubby and I went to New Zealand’s South Island for a week.

We started our holiday by flying into Wellington which for those who don’t know is in the North Island and we spent a night there before taking the Interisland Ferry across to the South Island where we picked up a hire car and travelled around the South Island for a the rest of our stay before flying out again from Christchurch.

The trip was good we stayed in some nice motels and hotels in fact there wasn’t a bad one this holiday which was nice, although the place we stayed at in Christchurch for our last night was small, well the complex wasn’t small just the room it was like you wouldn’t want to swing a cat as you would probably kill it……………lol

We visited some lovely places and I did have a good time more or less……………………….by that I mean there was a couple of days that I wasn’t real happy in fact I felt pretty down and sad and just wanted to come home. We were gone a total 10 days 9 nights as we left on the Friday afternoon after Tim got home from work and the trip to Sydney took forever as we got stuck in peak hour traffic but it was good that we didn’t have to leave early on the Saturday morning to catch our flight.

We are not ones to spend a long time away from our family; we miss them too much when we are away from them. We arrived home on Mother’s Day but it was late in the afternoon by the time we got back to Aus and around 8pm by the time we got home to our house. The first thing I did when we got home was have a hot bath then I found something to eat, thankfully I wasn’t that hungry as we were fed on the plane.

We flew with QANTAS this last time and it was so much better than Air New Zealand the staff was friendlier and as I said they fed us which didn’t happen with ANZ and the food was nice also. On the return flight they even offered alcohol so Tim had a screwdriver.

I did get a little annoyed with Tim as we both wanted to go to the toilet but first we wanted to find were the shuttle bus was which we did and after finding were to wait for it he decided to wonder off and find a toilet and in doing so caused us to miss the shuttle bus as it came while he was gone and didn’t wait around. So we had to get the next shuttle which meant a wait of 40minutes so I was annoyed. Tim was also annoyed mostly with himself for wondering off and agreed he should had waited or asked if anyone knew how long it would be till the shuttle would arrive.

I also had close to 900 emails when I returned to my main email account as I was unable to check that one while we were gone most of those were blog post that I follow via email so I just deleted pretty much all of the emails with exception of maybe 5 emails………………

Biopsy Done……….

Ok everyone I had my biopsy done on my breast yesterday afternoon and will get the results tomorrow afternoon.

The procedure its self-went fine, it wasn’t painful or that uncomfortable although laying on my tummy for like 20-30 minutes was the hardest because when I lay on my tummy I get nauseas from the pressure. It was done with a local anaesthetic and of course I was facing away from the doctor and didn’t see anything being done and felt nothing. Last night I was in pain through and ended up in bed around 7pm because my boob was so sore, today I am fine no pain or anything.

I am not worried about the results I am sure it will turn out to be nothing but I will let you know tomorrow after I get them.

Kathy loves her mummy so much she is wandering how long it will take her to discover I have written this. Lol.
